How I practice posing to keep your newborn safe
"Say hello to my Little friend."
Everyone meet Lexa, My newborn posing aid. As I start my journey into newborn photography ,with wraps and more advanced posing, she is going to help me practice so that when I am handling your precious baby they are safe and in the best hands. She has the movements of a newborn so I know how to pose baby in a comfortable and safe way. The cool thing about newborns in the first few weeks they are really flexible and fold in like a puzzle piece to get those cute pictures, because that's the way they have been in the womb for all those months, so it is a comfort to them. This is why I like to wrap babies because it sooths them, they like to be snuggled and warm and usually go right to sleep to get those precious pictures that everyone is crazy about. I have invested hours and hours of training to keep your baby safe. Newborn photography is one of the hardest genres, it takes a lot of patience! Baby will get hungry so we will have to stop and feed a few times, I totally get it I'm not in the best mood when I am hungry, so we will stop as many times as needed. They will have blow outs and we will completely have to change out backdrops, wraps and clothes and that is totally fine. Don't go into a session thinking it is going to go smoothly, remember your baby is still getting use to this big world around them. If a baby isn't feeling a certain pose I will not force them to do it. I want to keep your baby as safe as possible that is my number one concern over anything else. I want you to feel at ease when I have your baby in my hands and trust that I know what I am doing. I will start out with family and sibling poses and then focus on baby for the remainder of the session, so take this time to relax and have a moment to yourself while I document this special time for you.
